T a P P - Tasmanian Playwrights Project TaPP is a collective of Tasmanian playwrights who met at the Playwriting Australia symposium in Hobart in 2019.

We seek to celebrate and nurture the playwriting community, fostering a fertile and rigorous testing ground for new work.

If you'd like to know a bit more about the writer of SEXCAPADES, our final public reading for the year, read on....

Rosemary Cann is a pākehā writer, musician and actor based in nipaluna, lutruwita. Rosemary holds a BA in Theatre, English Literature and Anthropology, and a Masters in Creative Writing, specialising in Script and Screen. She was shortlisted for Playmarket’s ‘b4 25’ award for her play Wellington Hill Drinking Society (2015), and nominated ‘Best Newcomer’ at the NZ International Comedy Festival for her debut solo show Chapstick (2016). Following graduation, Rosemary toured for eighteen months, before moving to Australia, where she has participated in Carclew’s Writing Place residency, Blue Cow’s Future Proofing the Page program, and ATYP’s National Studio. She has performed in local productions Eurydice, HerStory (2019-2020) and The Campaign (2018), and is currently a participant in the Fresh Ink National Mentoring Program (ATYP and Archipelago Productions). Rosemary is passionate about representative, intelligent art that touches audiences and brings q***r and feminine narratives to the forefront.

A great opportunity from the Tasmanian Theatre Company!

Throughout our residency in The Founders Room, Salamanca Arts Centre for our season of JOAN by Leo J Skilbeck, we will be sharing the space with independent LGBTQIA+ producers and artists free of charge. Venue management, bar service, production and creative mentoring from the TTC staff team will be provided to all participants in the Parlour Tricks program.

Inclusion in the program will be by application and selection by a panel consisting of industry peers who are members of the LGBTQIA+ Community, including:

Maeve Mhairi MacGregor
Andy Aisbett (The Theatre Closet)
Hera Direen (QT* Cabaret)
Robert Jarman (Everyone’s favourite theatre dad)
