"TREES AND BEES AND BUMS AND HUMS"

Thank you and especially to Henry Watson for having me this week and giving me the opportunity to go so big!

I'm pretty stoked looking at this mural, it's the first time I've painted a wall this large. I learned how to use the scissor lifts and got in to the rhythm of working on this scale pretty quickly!

I am in love with these they are SO opaque and great to work with. Look at that yellow, so good!

It's been great connecting with all the other artist and seeing what they create, such an inspiration! .artist .emmerton_artist and anybody else I've missed.

If you're in Launceston this Saturday come to Thoroughfare and see all the art, enjoy live music and other great activities!

Im exchanging these gorgeous gardens around my studio for the Launceston CBD for a week to paint a mural, and then for 4 days in Melbourne with my daughter Ailbhe to see Mel Robbins speak, im so excited!

The mural should be fun, lots of firsts in that (going up on a working platform etc) but luckily theres quite a few Hobart artists I know who will also be there if i have any issues. The great thing about Tassie artists is how everyone supports each other and is super helpful, no gatekeeping or arrogant behaviour, its such a great community.

I'll be posting process shots next week, wish me luck! Im sure once i properly get started ill feel more relaxed and find my groove.

It's been a month since my solo exhibition ended and i brought all my artworks back to the studio. Lots of people ask me how it went, and my answer is always "oh my gosh EVERYBODY loved it and people were so uplifted and inspired! And i didnt sell a single thing."

Im not too fussed about it and certainly don't feel sorry for myself. I deeply trust the universe 100% that things are happening and unfolding exACTLY as they are meant to. Something will come out of it and it will be amazing and feel totally right.

I have been working on three different public art applications these last few weeks, and have also really been enjoying spending lots of time with my 17 year old Ailbhe cooking delicious meals, going to pilates and for beach walks and generally feeling super grateful for my life and family. I also had an amazing meal with Donovan on valentines day that i keep talking about every day it was SO GOOD.

Today I finally managed to spend a few hours cleaning and sorting my studio after painting the shelves white last week. I unpacked the crowns and put them up nicely and prepared the studio for some upcoming visits with people i have been connecting with. Its not as if its neat like a proper showroom, but i did manage to put my works up and around for it to be a good experience.

I can feel the magic and the opportunities circling around me, and im ready baby! Bring it on!
