TASMANIA HAS MORE VOLUNTEER FIRE FIGHTERS THAN PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS 🔥

🚒 Tasmania has 11 volunteers for every 1 career firefighter.🔥

🚒 4,000 volunteers versus
360 career firefighters... 🔥

🚒 9 out of 10 Fire trucks is powered by dedicated volunteers

It was with dedicated love for my island home that I created my painting “Survival" after the terrible North-West fires that devastated our heritage forest and local wildlife.

This artwork is a tribute to our native endangered species, who have no voice to cry out and no warning systems to guide them.

Fires don’t just scorch the land, they erase habitats, food sources, and wildlife in a single season.

To the firefighters, volunteer and professional, who run toward the flames when the rest of us are running away… your courage humbles me.

Your dedication, the hours spent away from your loved ones, your willingness to walk into danger for strangers, it leaves a mark on all of us.

I donate framed, signed “Survival” prints to fire stations around the state.

It will never equal the sacrifice our professional and volunteer firefighters make, but it is my way of visually saying,

We see you.
We thank you.
We are safer because of you.

May this approaching season become a call for greater awareness, deeper care, community connection and stronger protection.

Stay safe, stay aware, look after one another and look after the land that looks after us.

Be brave... 🎨
I think this is something a lot of artists struggle with.

Creatives are happiest when creating.
Creating is the comfortable part.

Then comes the scary bit…

Posting it online...
Standing at a markets...
Putting a price on your work...
Talking about your art and yourself...
Handing someone your business card...
Applying for the exhibitions....
Walking into the galleries...
Making social media
Saying, “I’m the artist.”

And hoping the world doesn’t respond with silence.

There is an incredible amount of vulnerability in all of this...

Taking something that came from your imagination, your hands and often a very personal part of yourself and putting it in front of strangers...

Sometimes promoting yourself can feel like showing off, being vain or false...

It isn’t.

Every social media post, every market stall, every exhibition application, every awkward conversation about your work is a tiny act of courage, bravery and rebellion...

You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room.
You don’t have to become an influencer.
You don’t have to pretend you’re completely confident.
You just have to be brave enough to keep saying:

“I made this...I’m proud of it...And I’d like to show you...”

So to every artist who feels uncomfortable promoting themselves....

PUT YOUR CREATION IN THE COMMENTS...!!

Be brave and courageous...it's the first step in the journey 💪 ✨️
TAKE UP SPACE...

Because believing your art deserves to be seen isn’t arrogance, vanity or falsehoods.

We had the most wonderful High Tea at Wicked Cheese in Richmond today! 🧀✨
A real Tasmanian indulgence, with locally made fresh produce.

If you're visiting Richmond and love cheese, good food and a leisurely High Tea, Wicked Cheese is an absolute must.

We left very full, very happy, and possibly made of at least 40% cheese. 🧀
Highly recommend... ❤️

🎨 Dear Parents, Grandparents & Guardians,

A tiny art lesson for the future generation.

Your child is growing up surrounded by AI-generated images and are still learning the difference, between real art created by a human and AI.

If your child loudly states “That's AI!”
in front of an artist, a simple...

“Let's ask the artist how they made it.”

turns an awkward moment into a brilliant little art lesson. Without undermining the artists work, years of practice or efforts.

Please don't stop kids being curious about ai or art and knowing the difference.

Teach them to be curious about artists too, the hands behind the artwork ❤️

My heart is with the LGBTQIA+ community in Berlin and everyone whose Pride celebrations have been overshadowed by fear, hatred or violence.

Pride has always been more than a parade.

It is a celebration of love, authenticity and human rights to exist openly and safely.

No one should ever have to fear for their safety because of who they are or who they love.

Here in Tasmania, I am incredibly proud to stand alongside Equality Tasmania, the Tasmanian Greens, Ella Haddad MP and so many passionate advocates who continue working towards ending conversion practices in our state.

The fight for equality is about creating a community where every person feels safe, respected and valued for exactly who they are.

To everyone marching, advocating, supporting loved ones or simply finding the courage to be themselves... you are seen, you are valued and you belong. ❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

My PRIDE Devil pictured below, available at Equality Tasmania to end conversion practices, all sales support their efforts.
