There has been a lot happening in the life of the studio, so I thought I’d give you all a bit of a window into what’s been going on… 👀
My friend Tristan Sampson from Overdue generously gave me a vintage Reel to Reel to have in the studio. We gave it a test while we had family over, and all loved the “simpler times” sound. We also got to play some old Ridley family reels from England, which haven’t been played in decades. It was pretty special. All while Lewis J. Ridley got his hair cut by rika mila ridley.
Loved recording with the always kind Alex De Rosa and my good mate Anthony Donato from Shepherd and Psalmist. 🤝
The new studio space is really shaping up! Plenty of priming, painting, flooring, panelling, door installing and even glaziers putting in an acoustic window. It wouldn’t have been possible without knowledgeable tradie mates, and my supportive family. All have been generous with their time. Not long to go now!
Enjoyed tracking some lovely violin by Emily McDonald and cello by 𐌷𝖾ℓ𝖾𝗇 Сɑ𝚛𝔱𝖾𝚛 for ’s track! 🎻
Got to spend time with Charlie and Davis who chose to spend their week of work experience at the studio!
Anthony Donato, 🌸Ali Quinn🌸 and I have been working together for a while now. Good friends! It’s always great to be together, working collaboratively on Ali’s music!
Wouldn’t be a studio without plenty of mixing! All kinds of genres, all talented clients. I’m so grateful this is my job. This is a snippet of Sophie Ava!
It’s also been a reflective time as I start thinking about my “lasts” in this studio space, before the new. Grateful for all that has been, and excited for what’s to come.
