I have to admit that I haven't actually been here. It isn't open when we go for our morning beach walk and, while I can understand the attraction of the humble LP and the bygone thrill of that subtle hiss as the needle hit the grooves, I doubt that my turntable would even work any more and I am no where near committed enough to go back there again. Still I thought there may be many of you who are so motivated and furthermore anybody 'brave' enough to open a record shop in Hervey Bay deserves my support, if not my business. The shop is at the bottom of Queens road across from the Beach House.

Hey everyone - have a great holiday season whatever your personal beliefs may be. The Wednesday morning session will definitely be on this week and more than likely I will be there on the 27th as well, but I will let you know.

Also - have a look at the attached poster. The Gin Club used to be semi-regulars at the Yagubi Festival back in the day. This should be a good show.

Hello again

While I haven't made much progress on a venue for another 'Bay Folk' night, I do have an invitation which some of you might find of interest. Before our trip overseas I had gotten into the habit of dropping in to Fx of Coffee on the Esplanade in Torquay on a Wednesday morning to play for a while. It seemed like a better idea then another practice session at home. It's strictly acoustic, but it is a very small coffee shop and it seemed to work just fine. The proprietor, Andrew, seems quite happy with the arrangement and we thought that some of you might be interested in coming along to play a tune or just grab a coffee and enjoy the music.

Now precisely zero planning has gone in to this idea and it may not work at all and for many of you the tiny inconvenience of work might get in the way, but, if you are so inclined, on any Wednesday morning for the rest of the year you are welcome to come along to play, sing along or just enjoy. I try to get there by 9:30 ish and a couple of hours would be the maximum time we would have.

The coffee shop is on the corner of the esplanade and Witt St. - just across from the coffee shop that Santini's just opened up on the other corner of the esplanade and Witt St.

Maybe we will see you there.

We are expecting a great night of music this Wednesday at the Pialba Bowls Club. As well as our usual varied assortment of entertainment we have - not 1 but - 2 harp players (and I'm talking about the full size sort) coming along. Those of you who made it along to Bay Folk in March will remember Susan and her lovely harp I am certain. Well this month she is bringing along some friends (including another harp player) and I am looking forward to hear what they have put together for the night.
