Freshwater Old Fountain Stage 2
We have now booked another four weekly meetings at the Hive starting on on Sundays 12th October on Sundays 11-2 p.m. to complete the Stage 2 mosaic. We expect installation early December.2025

A call for participants/volunteers interested, to come along of a look , think about learning art of mosaics &/or help using your skills at the same time! It’s fun watching and trying cutters etc. and such a visit may inspire you to join us in our next 2026 smaller project!

This mosaic is a 61/2 square meter addition to the ‘Old Fountain’ at the Con Soulvas Park at Biddeford St, Torquay, our contribution to the concrete ‘FILLIN, when the water was turned off permantly (2023) following the decommissioning of the fountain(2023). Our contribution in stage 2 is We expect to install the mosaic early December 2025
Come to the Hive on a Sunday 12 th and following three Sundays, see how the fish are progressing on dry land !

PS We had a great meeting with Paul Parry our fine artist mosaics mentoring this project, n MONDAY 29th September 2025. Paul gave helpful hints, discussed the installation process and worked with each person on their board to understand their style of mosaicking, and correct any outstanding glitches that may be showing up. It was a great help to all of us.!
