I've always drawn small. Small details, intricacy and fineliners but I've always wanted to go BIGGER! This image began my journey to using surfboards as canvases. This was the biggest image I'd tackled ever. Initially I HATED it. I struggle to zoom out, but zoom right in to minute detail with ease. Let me just comment that my actual life is exactly the opposite. I'm pretty gung ho in that department 😆

This painting sat around half painted fpr months until one day...after 8 hours of relentless lines, I began to fall in love with my BIG ORCA 💙 You don't learn and grow at anything in life until you do it repetitively enough to learn what works and what doesn't! This one hangs in my hallway.

Et Voilá! I have some new and exiting pieces that I've been working on!!

For the longest time I have wanted to up the ante and go BIGGER!! I've never been overly confident with a brush in my hand and if I'm honest, my style really lends itself to the pen.

I've discovered these amazing new paint pens by 'SurfPaints' and to tell you that I'm totally over the moon with the fun I can have with these is an understatement!

I've been playing around with a few new ideas, branching out if you will into other styles, using colour and some interesting new inspirations. Nature, the mystical and mandalas always make an appearance in my work though so despite it being bigger and there being bolder colours it still feels familiar to me. And what are we if we don't develop our curiosities and bloom into our ever evolving future selves.
