🌟 Amanda Black 🌟

I believe in the importance of our ATOD students having an affirming exam experience, as it prepares them to build future life skills outside of the studio.

In facilitating a positive exam environment, I provide a comfortable space for students to achieve their best, display their knowledge and ability, and convey their love of dance.

I also work to be a positive influence and mentor to all teachers, supporting them to confidently teach their students by building their understanding of the various genres that ATOD has to offer.

Outside of the studio, I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to incorporate my passion for travel as part of my work and experiencing so many new places while examining.

I look forward to continue meeting more ATOD teachers and members everywhere—it’s wonderful to see such a strong passion for dance fostered all over the world!

Dance exams are key to a child’s success ⭐️

Ballet muscle memory is a marvellous thing, don't you think?

You may have lost most of your flexibility (I can only dream of splits), strength and stamina, but deep down your brain and body still know how to do all the things.

Just as I know my ABCs, my muscles remember arabesques, battus and croisée. Probably forever, even if I were dancing only in my dreams.

Still signed up for that first comeback ballet class though (in September). It's now been 40 months since I last jetée-d across the floor. Crazy, I know.
