Southern 500 held its Presentation Night over the weekend. It was great to see members and families come together to celebrate another successful season and recognise the achievements of our drivers, officials, volunteers and supporters.

The Southern 500 Speedway Club is pleased to release the 26-27 season calendar. We are looking forward to another great season of action, kicking off with the return of the South Australian Junior Sedan Southern Showdown, followed by the season-headlining Victorian Compact Speedcar Championship on December 19 and the Victorian Standard Saloon Championship on Labour Day weekend. As always, dates and classes are subject to change, so we hope everyone is excited and busy getting their cars ready, as it comes around quickly.

Update for tomorrows practice/promo day the bulk of the rain predicted didn’t hit the track, and it’s looking in great shape for a rip, there is a shower predicted for around midday that we may need to work around, so get those hot rods loaded up and we will have a bit of fun to close out the season.

With the forecast not looking to flash for the weekend, the committee will wait and see what Mother Nature gives us Saturday and we will make the call, you never know we may get lucky and we can have a rip to close out the season. fingers crossed everyone 🤞🏁

⚠️FINAL EVENT CANCELLED⚠️

The Southern 500 Speedway committee has made the call not to run our final event of the season.

With other clubs in the region running similar classes and feature events, the committee felt this was the best call for all involved.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported the club this year.

We’d also like to wish all clubs and teams still racing the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
