With cards that react to your environment, and each game you play risking your place in a tournament. In the Fifth Galactic Age the four great empires of the galaxy made a profound discovery: Roaming in the outer edge of the galaxy, a lone star known as Kardas is dimmed by countless artificial satellites forming a computer network of untold power. A war like no other soon erupted among the great e
mpires over who would control this megastructure. The science of destruction surged ahead, and 3 decades into the war, an experimental hyperspace disruptor was activated. However, it did not have the intended effect. Instead of pulling enemy ships out of hyperspace, the device created an irreversible instability in all of hyperspace. New hyperdrives were quickly designed to allow fleets to traverse the stars despite the instability, but they required immense power that can only be provided by Velocium, an extremely rare element harvested from black holes. Velocium is used to create fuel cells which allow the great fleets of the four empires to cross the galaxy. Now the shattered remains of each empire’s fleets scramble to control Kardas, some admirals defecting from their governments and becoming warlords, fighting for themselves. Fleets fight desperately over Velocium supplies to deprive their enemies of vital fuel and to allow them to draw closer to Kardas.
