I paid one of my regular visits to the disco tunnel today.

I’m really claustrophobic in there and to get a decent picture of your brain they have to put a VERY UNPLEASANT THICK CAGE clamped over your face. It makes me feel the same way I feel when I first board a plane in economy class.

Like screaming and clawing for the exit.

I just get through it by meditating and waiting for the beat to drop.

You think the beat has dropped at a certain point…

but then the beat REALLY drops.

The goodness of booming vibrations pounding through my body doesn’t exactly make the MRI experience “worth” the panic, but it certainly distracts me long enough from my claustrophobic panic to breathe through to the end.

Every time I get through another one, I’m really proud of myself.

I was clearing dead leaves in my garden yesterday arvo, and nearly accidentally squashed a net-casting spider.

I had been VERY disruptive all around where it was, because I hadn’t seen it.

So when I spotted it and peered in closer, I was amazed at how focused it was.

Ain’t nobody gonna get between a net-casting spider and its dinner. I won’t lie… I can strongly identify with that…

It didn’t care about me at all.
It just stayed there, staring hard at its chosen area to hunt… waiting for an unsuspecting bug to wander underneath its Super-Duper Gotcha Net 2000.

My son in law and I have the same diagnosis of .
One of us was in Afghanistan. Somalia. Iraq.
The other of us was tortured and then stalked by a violent criminal who lived in our home and refused to leave or allow us to leave, then police, courts and community members failed to believe our truthful accounts of those crimes against us for some years before they finally saw we were telling the truth the whole time.

Same symptoms. Same diagnostic criteria.
Same ongoing threat to our lives.
Same sentence.

I am so glad we have each other.
