So while these guys are waiting for the over zealous paige to get changed, its interesting to note some of the origins of the current World Cup matches being watched by millions at the moment.
As a truely world competition today, kicking games have been around for centuries, in nearly all cultures.
Medieval soccer, "mob or folk football", was a chaotic and violent, and largely no rules free for all game. Entire villages or towns faced off, with players trying to force a stuffed animal hide toward a distant landmark or hole in the ground, using any means necessary.

it’s got kings and queens, knights and soldiers, serfs and peasants, a witch and a wizard and plenty more, but can you create a KINGDOM before events conspire against you, or your opponents, before you can declare your KINGDOM and win the game?

A great game for young and old. Its quick and simple. Ages 10+. 1-5 Players.

Our first product finally ready, “KINGDOM” and the first in a dark ages trilogy.

Two queens who had significant destructive religious and social policies forced upon their kingdoms, were Mary I and Elizabeth I.

Queen Mary I of England who ruled from 1553 to 1558, and known as 'Bloody Mary', persecuted, tortured, and executed hundreds of Protestants, which caused chaos and crisis in and around England, attempting to reverse the English Reformation implemented by her father King Henry VIII, and continued by her brother and predecessor Edward VI.

Queen Elizabeth I of England who succeeded her from 1558 to 1603, was one of the last and longest reigning monarchs of her era. Despite her popularity, some accounts describe her as a tyrant who executed thousands of Catholics, crushed the opposing religious rights of her subjects, and left the country in debt.

KINGDOM, the 1st in the Medieval set of card games, has a Queen on equal footing with the King, to rule and needed to build a collection of 5 cards and win the game.

In the medieval period, queens were viewed through a complex, dualistic lens: they were officially seen as necessary dynastic agents and partners in rule, while also being suspected of acting as "alien" outsiders or dangerous, meddling influences. While their primary, essential role was to secure the royal line by producing heirs, they were also expected to act as pious, merciful intercessors between the king and his subjects, managing the royal household, and, at times, acting as powerful regents or diplomats.
Perceived to their kingdoms as The Dynastic Progenitor and "Mother of the Nation", this foremost, the expectation of a queen was to ensure the continuation of the dynasty was a 'brood mare' and mother to the male progeny for the king.
