📍 Zone 6 – Nyngan: 13 February
📍 Zone 7 – Cootamundra: 6 February

⚠️ Please note: The Zone 3 host location has changed. Cooma will now host the Zone 3 Final instead of Cobargo.

GUNNING YOUNG WOMAN PROGRAM 2027

It’s that time of year again! We’re looking for the next young women to become part of the Gunning Young Woman Program!

Open to young women aged 6–24 years, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in your community, build confidence and develop valuable life skills.

Are you passionate about rural and regional NSW? 🐏

This is your opportunity to become an ambassador for your community, with the chance to represent Gunning and the region at events including the Sydney Royal Easter Show and across NSW.

What does the program offer?
• Represent your community and the Gunning Show
• Opportunities to represent at a state level
• Connect with inspirational leaders in agriculture and regional communities
• Celebrate and promote rural women in agriculture
• Attend official events and community activities
• Amazing self-development and personal growth
• Gain confidence, communication and leadership skills
• Mentoring and development opportunities
• Make new friendships and become more involved in your community

We’re looking for young women who have:
💃A genuine interest in rural and regional communities 🌾 An interest in agriculture and rural life
🗣️ An enthusiasm to learn, grow and have a go
🐏An understanding or interest in regional issues and lifestyles
✨ A passion for making a difference in their community

HUGE thank you to the purchasers of our wood auction today. What an amazing result! Knowing the funds supports local is surely a win, but we really appreciate those that turned out and bid on our quality loads of wood. Legends! It really will make a difference to our local infrastructure.

Though the wood didn't just land on the back of utes. Such a fantastic community of supporters came together to split, cut and load wood (tough going!). Each helper was completely appreciated and we can't thank them enough. Without you we couldn't do this year in and year out and raise much needed funds for our show and the local infrastructure.

Big thank you to Jack Medway who spent days cutting wood on our property in preparation for today. Amazing job!

Thank you to all who came to help out, despite almost getting bogged, it was appreciated beyond measure x

The Gunning Show wood auction is on THIS SUNDAY at 3pm in front of the pub. Just pop down and bid on a load and it could be yours.

Free delivery within 15km of town. Come and bag yourself one of 14 quality loads of wood. EFTPOS available.

We're back, the Gunning Show Wood Auction is on Sunday, 16 August kicking off at 3pm in front of the pub!

Plenty of quality loads of wood are available for auction. Free delivery within 15km of town.

Cash and card facilities are available for payment on the day. Pop down and grab yourself a load.

Can’t be there in person? No problem. Just send us a message via The Gunning Show page and we’ll happily bid on your behalf and arrange delivery.

All funds raised go straight back into supporting the Gunning Show. Come along, grab a load, and back a great local cause!

The Gunning Show AGM is on next Monday, 22 June 2026 at 7pm at the Hall. Ever wanted to get involved in our fabulous committee? This is your chance.

No need to RSVP, just come along and enjoy being part of an energetic and engaged crew. Lots of exciting events and things to get involved with across the year. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

This is a special event on Gunning's community calendar. Each year we remember the incredible Bruce Hillier through the event he founded in Gunning. He was a treasured community member, and it is really special to have Craig Hillier, Monique Hillier, Zoe and Riley continue his legacy in organising it all. Forever thanks to the Hillier family for all they do in pulling this event together. It literally couldn't run without them!

This year was a big one for the Gunning team. A record number of entries and running the canteen again, but what a great weekend was had.

A big thank you to the local Guilfoyle and Piggot families for lending their cattle across the two days. To Brent Medway and Belinda and Wes Cosgrove for the transport. Mel Primmer and Melinda Medway organising a great canteen and Mel Willoughby organising the helpers on the Saturday through the Pony Club.

Thanks to everyone for the set up and the pack up, it really is a community effort and we couldn't be more thankful.

We are already looking forward to next year, which is odd to say as we usually take a few days to get over it all! This year we are already looking forward to the next one. Good luck to our friends in Yass who are hosting the next event, fingers crossed the sun comes out for a great weekend.
