Adding a dash of rose powdered gold to this gouache pink. The process of mixing colours for a small project on a stormy day in the studio.
Ensuring there’s no lumps (I don’t want that in the nib!) feels like it takes an age- a good twenty minutes spent adding white & a pinch of rose dust here & there.
Why the rose dust, because once it dries there’s a small element of glimmer added to the letters.

It’s simply not just pretty pen writing- tomorrow, there will be more “behind the scenes”.

Part of my process isn’t all ink & nibs, at times you hear the sound of cutting paper.
I’ve mixed this with yesterday’s early morning start at my favourite
Cutting up written paper to make a two sided visual, more next post to discover why in my latest personal project of being innovative.

A new idea, a new concept is born for my birthday. Goodness, I really thought outside the box on this one !

I’m showing you first because I was inspired seeing a clear shape in an artistic shop & I had an “Ah ha” moment spring forth!
So I started working on something especially
“for me, myself & I “
(birthday tomorrow. )Yay, and I so love to celebrate special occasions!

So first of all I penned some words on small bits of paper that hint at what I do.
Then…oh, I shall wear it tomorrow & take a pic.

I think the word I wrote out most of all was “AVANT GARDE”.
