The Criterion Theatre Ask us about hiring our hall for your next performance! 🎭💃🎶 GRAFTON'S heritage-listed Criterion Theatre originally began as a dance hall in the 1940s.

The Criterion Theatre in Grafton is a not-for-profit organisation, managed by a committee, bringing you quality theatre and music, whilst always enjoying ourselves! The theatre has a unique, beautiful "sprung" timber dance floor. At sometime during its history, rubber was placed under the timber floor to put a "spring" in the step of dancers using it. The building was converted into a warehouse in the 1950's, then converted into a theatre in the 1960's.
