After cutting the rock in two it was trucked to Sydney Aquarium and joined back together. The crane is a 160 tonner and came to the Aquarium on three semi trailers, although the rock's weight wasn't substantial, the distance from the crane to its position was 60m. Cost 10 grand a day so the rock and the substrate were craned in on the day.

Some more pics of the seal pool construction. The rock...center feature of the pool was 10m long, 6m wide and 3.5m high weighing in at 4.2 tonne. I had to cut it into two to get it from Canberra to Sydney Aquarium as the lanes through Sydney were too narrow for it to go in one piece

Here are a couple of pictures of how I made the walls for the seal pool. All wall profiles were made from an 8x5 metre mould and shaped accordingly to the scale model which Sydney Aquarium provided, unfortunately I dont have a picture of it.
