Roll on through the gallery! 🛹

On display now is Andrew Lavery's gravity-defying installation 'Downhill Accessory'. This work transforms a familiar object into glass, altering its material logic and inviting a reconsideration of how meaning is assigned to the everyday. The work continues Lavery's ongoing interrogation of Australian culture, memory, and perception.

Welcome to the latest instalment of ‘Paws on Public Art’, a recurring public art initiative that sees the Goulburn Mulwaree Animal Shelter and Goulburn Regional Art Gallery collaborate to support local animals in need.

Across 2026, 'Paws on Public Art' will bring vibrant artworks, inspiring stories, and new opportunities to connect. Showcasing both pup and public artwork on social media platforms, community spaces are embraced as spaces that celebrate kindness, creativity, and second chances.

My handler told me we’ve got a sculpture to review, and there were rumours it was in Belmore Park! With so many beautiful flowers blooming, there’s a lot to see and smell.

I can tell you now that Luke Chiswell’s Hold your head up 2017 smells just like bronze, and I think a lot of dogs really appreciate this one, especially the feet. I got to get right up close to the big face and realized this fella doesn’t have a body. Just a massive nose (all the better for springtime sniffs). I’ve never seen anything like it in Goulburn, and I wonder if he ever gets lonely.

I’m a black dog, so I know what it’s like to feel a bit down in the dumps. Eight weeks ago, while looking for a new home, I became a single mum who loves her kids and never stops. I know how to hold my head up, that’s for sure. We pocket- sized kelpies are resilient.

Before you say you love me or I go my own way, you should know some of my dreams. I’m a kind-hearted, soft soul, so retirement from farm life suits me better than a heavy-duty livestock job or a lonely chain. Instead, I wanna be with you everywhere – the back of a quad bike, a Sunday drive to Collector, or by the fire – as long as we don’t stop thinking about tomorrow! for info about Gypsy enquire with the Goulburn Mulwaree Council via their website.

Arlo Mountford's 'Wedge for S/elective Viewing' features several of the hallmarks of the artist's practice: sculpture, animation, sound, and humour. In this work, the artist invites viewers to put their heads into the installation in order to fully experience the work. In doing so, Mountford's playful work makes the viewer aware of the dislocation between their head and body, and realise as they watch the work unfold that in this position they cannot easily walk away. This physical action serves to emphasise the themes explored in the animated component which is only visible for those who are adventurous enough to participate.

They say this mural is called "Growth." It was painted by an artist named Jason Wing, with the help of Goulburn youth. As a budding young talent in Goulburn myself, I think it’s exactly what I’m looking for!
My name is Rodney, which is the perfect name to scream out across a paddock, a dog park, or a work site. If you've ever met a Kelpie, you'll know we’re some of the sharpest tools in the shed (and some of the biggest sooks on wet days). Every day is another chance to learn something new, explore somewhere different, or work alongside someone I trust who can give me a little direction.
I'm only around 2 years old, so I've got plenty of spark and a whole career ahead of me – in fact, I’m a bit of a twinkle-toes and could give anyone a run for their money on the Coolavin Hotel dancefloor. Like any young apprentice, I'd love a home with plenty of action and opportunities to expand my skillset. Long walks along the Wollondilly, new tricks at the dog park, playing games in the yard with the little ones, or even having a job around the property will be great – and I’ll save you a fortune in caffeine. Give me purpose, consistency, and kindness, and I'll give you everything I've got.
I'm looking for a teammate. Someone who understands that dogs like me thrive when we're part of the pack.
