Youth Arts Warehouse Gosford

Youth Arts Warehouse Gosford A theatre space, band performance area, art exhibition space, a music recording studio, and a multi-facet arts room for young people aged 12-25.

Since opening in February 2007 over 10,000 young people have utilised this amazing facility. Our goal has been to deliver to the Central Coast region the kind of multi purpose art space young people would want to use for their own artistic expression, development and education.

It is with immense pride we announce that RYSS are the recipients of the 2020 Youth Action NSW Youth Work Award for 'Outstanding Work with Aboriginal Young People'.

We received this award acknowledging RYSS' exceptional ‘best practice’ work with Aboriginal young people.

An example project was the creative arts project: Bunnal - a place of heart.

Bunnal was a cultural journey for local Indigenous and non Indigenous young people. They were guided by our community elder Gavi Duncan and local artists connecting them with our rich local Indigenous culture and sacred sites while producing wonderful creative works. A beautiful short film of incredible cinematography was produced to capture this amazing journey.

You can view the film 'Bunnal - a place of heart' at the link below

The project was a collaboration from may entities. We would like to thank the following for their involvement and contributions to making Bunnal the award-winning success it is.

In celebration for International Music Day RYSS are excited to announce The BUSking Project! We have big plans to help young people across the Central Coast to capture and share their voices and musical talents with the World!!!

Our original idea was to run open mic gigs at Central Coast community events across the region, giving young people a platform for a live music performance experience. The current health crisis has unfortunately impacted our plans, and we are adapting and taking The BUSKing Project ONLINE!

Of course, when the time is right, and restrictions ease, we will take to the streets and get BUSking!

The exciting part is that the online platform will still operate like an open mic music showcase.

Young musicians aged 12-25 from the Central Coast region can submit a video or recording of a song. It could be a cover or original music; you could be a solo artist or a group act. We would like to share the videos across multiple web and social platforms giving our region’s young musical talent the exposure it deserves.

Taking your music out to the public can be scary and you might not know where to start, so we hope BUSking will also be a space for young artists to share their tips and tricks for getting started as well as gaining advice and mentorship from young industry professionals.

Stay tuned for more information. Video submissions open from July 1st So GET FILMING!

The RYSS BUSking Project is finally here!! We have big plans to help young people across the Central Coast to capture and share their voices and musical talents with the World! Calling all young artists! Competition now extended for the school holidays and prize money has been increased to $500!

This would make a great social isolation project for young artists 12-25

We have decided to extend our Indigenous Artwork Competition so young people can have the school holidays to create and submit their works. This would be a great project for social isolation!

We have also increased the prize money to $500!!

We call to action any young emerging artists in our community 12-25 years to submit Indigenous artworks to be considered for our organisation's new Indigenous branding. The winning artwork will be digitalised and used for all our Indigenous Programs, Projects, Events and our Reconciliation Action Plan.

We would like our new Indigenous branding to show symbolism and themes of

Youth, Growth, The Future and Reconciliation.

The winning design will be chosen and the artist will be celebrated, credited and receive payment of $500. By submitting your work you will be agreeing to be publicly acknowledged with your name, image, and information about you as an artist and the meaning of the artwork displayed on our website and social media platforms.

We've put together a great list of recommendations to help celebrate young people during Youth week 2020. There are some great creative projects, so check it out!

We its not the year for the normal kind of Youth Week celebrations with all events cancelled and having to STAY AT HOME! But we have put some ideas together so we can celebrate youth and participate in this years theme, even if that has to be in social isolation!

Speak up. Be involved. Get connected. Have fun.

Are there any young artists out there who want a project while they are socially isolating?

At RYSS we are seeking Indigenous artwork from young emerging artists for the new RYSS Indigenous branding.

$200 Prize Money for the Chosen Design!

We would like our new Indigenous branding to show symbolism and themes of Youth, Growth, The Future and Reconciliation.

We would like our RYSS Branding colour to feature in the works. It is not essential if you wish to submit an artwork that is already created but we would like to be able to change this digitally with the artists permission.

Artworks of all mediums will be considered. We will convert the winning artwork into a digital format and create logo design from an element of the work. We will supply the artist with copies of these files for their portfolio.

The winning design will be chosen and the artist will be celebrated, credited and receive payment of $200. By submitting your work you will be agreeing to be publicly acknowledged with your name, image, and information about you as an artist and the meaning of the artwork displayed on our website and social media platforms.

If you are a young person aged 12-25 and would like to submit an artwork for consideration please click the link below. You will need to upload images of your artwork.
