✨ The antidote to Sunday anxiety / procrastination / overwhelm ☀️
Do you ever wake on a Sunday morning . it’s a stunning day. The sunlight shimmers through your window.. The kettle boils and you bask briefly in the Sunday sense of hope. A whole day ahead full of possibilities ✨
And all of a sudden.. an inexplicable panic sets in. A sense of dread as you sip your last bit of cacao… 😳
The urge to do nothing at odds with The fear of frittering away the day.
The fear of wasting this precious time..
Here’s what I do:
I get clear on my value set (applicable to Sundays)
Space / rest 🧘♀️
Expression / creativity 🌻
Community / connection 🤗
Romance / love making 👄
Fitness / wellbeing 🤸♀️
And I try to create moments for each of these.
I start by slipping out of bed early..
this is slow, solo time where I get to be really mindful and intentional. I light incense, make a tea and write poetry ✍️
Then I slip back into bed and I make love.. either with myself or my lover 🥰
I make a wholesome breakfast and may listen to my love play music or if I’m solo - go for a walk or practice Pilates.
And then I allow myself space to do nothing / read a book / lie in the sun.. maybe make a dance playlist - until my FAVOURITE part of the week.. contact dance at 4pm where all my values exist in the one delicious, squishy, smooshy, nourishing, expressive, creative space of connection, movement and community!!
Knowing I have contact as part of my Sunday ritual gives me the permission to have a super spacious day.. and I never fear that I’ll waste it. Sundays always feel enlivening, fulfilling and nurturing to my soul.
