You asked and we’re listening! This term we’re doing a short film horror intensive. Over the 5 weeks you will learn the process of writing and devising your own horror film, rehearsing, and shooting our short film. We know how busy the end of year gets with school and social commitments so the course will run on Wednesday nights from the 4th of October to the 1st of November in Surfers Paradise. Each actor will receive all footage to use for their showreel as part of the course. The price of the course (including the film shoot) is $450.

8 WEEK SHOWREEL COURSE

This term we are offering an 8 week show reel course for students aged 10-17 years which includes weekly training by a range of industry mentors including:
Acting Coaches - Josie Cross (BFA Acting, QUT) and Pierce Gordon
Director – Tim Hill (Masters Directing NIDA)
Our Filming Team: Tom Russell - Director of Photography, Liv Page – headshot photographer, and Finn Cross (Bachelor Film Screen and New Media – QUT)

Wednesdays 5:30pm-8:30pm - commencing Wednesday 3rd May.
$645 includes 8 weekly classes covering audition technique, scene work, theatre skills, voice training AND a professionally shot and edited show reel scene.

The Performers Studio was established on the Gold Coast in 2016 in response to the ever-growing need for high quality affordable training for young emerging actors. Our pre professional program continues to prepare students for professional careers in the industry with our alumni students being accepted into some of Australia’s most prestigious tertiary courses in acting, musical theatre and dance and working on feature films, TV series and professional theatre productions both here and abroad.

We understand how expensive training for young actors can be and aim to offer professional training at an affordable price for parents understanding that at a young age showreels and headshots need to be continuously updated as kids look and skill level both change so quickly.

Jon, a star professor and author is racked with self-loathing after his third marriage crumbles around him when he finds himself admiring a student - a girl in a red coat. The girl, 19 year old Annie, is a big fan of his work. Their mutual admiration and sexual tension escalates to a surprising conclusion adding layers of depth when retrospection becomes the play's most powerful tool.
