Circle of Life Dreaming

Circle of Life Dreaming tells a powerful story of love, resilience, connection, and the journey shared between two souls.
At the heart of this artwork is the story of a man and a woman travelling together through life. Like all journeys, their path is filled with highs and lows, trials and tribulations, moments of hardship, and moments of joy. Yet no matter what challenges arise, they always find their way back to one another. They return to a place of safety, understanding, and balance, guided by the strength of their bond and the love they share.
The circle within the painting represents the circle of life itself — a sacred journey that constantly tests strength, patience, resilience, and spirit. Life is never without challenges, but when love between two people is genuine and strong, it becomes unbreakable. At the centre of the circle is abundance: abundance of love, family, healing, wisdom, energy, and the blessings that come from staying connected to each other and to Country.
The swirling patterns throughout the artwork represent the outside voices that surround people in life — gossip, lies, negativity, deceit, and the stories others create. These swirls symbolise distractions and challenges that attempt to pull people away from their path. In contrast, the yellow circles represent the good people in life: the supporters, protectors, family members, and true souls who bring encouragement, guidance, and positive energy.
The lines flowing through the artwork symbolise the roots and branches of a tree, connecting deeply into Mother Earth and reaching toward the centre of the circle of life. These connections remind us that our energy, strength, and spirit come from the land itself. Through Country, we remain grounded, guided, and spiritually connected.
This artwork represents unity, unconditional love, resilience, spiritual grounding, and the powerful connection between people, nature, and the life journey we all share

Today we pause to remember, reflect, and honour the strength of the Stolen Generations, their families, and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
National Sorry Day is a time for truth-telling, healing, connection, and respect — acknowledging the pain carried through generations while walking together toward understanding and unity.
May we continue to listen, learn, and keep culture, stories, and spirit alive for future generations. I hope you all like my painting

Barramundi Dreaming

Barramundi Dreaming is a story of desire, freedom, and the balance between order and independence within the waterways of Country.
In this Dreaming, the barramundi move through the waterholes dreaming of a place where they can live freely, without restriction or the presence of the crocodile — the keeper of law within the waters. The crocodile represents the natural order of the waterways, maintaining balance, structure, and the cycles that govern life within the rivers and waterholes.
The barramundi, in their journey, long for a peaceful place where they can exist without the constant awareness of this law, where movement is free and life flows without pressure or limitation. Their Dreaming reflects the instinct of independence and the wish to explore life on their own terms within the water.
However, within Country, all things exist within balance. The law of the water, represented by the crocodile, ensures that cycles are maintained, boundaries are respected, and life continues in harmony. Even when resistance exists, it is part of the greater system that keeps the waterways strong and connected.
Barramundi Dreaming is a story of contrast — between freedom and structure, movement and law, individuality and balance. It reflects the ongoing relationship between all living beings in the water, and the understanding that even in dreams of independence, every creature remains part of the greater cycle of Country.

Traditional Hunt Dreaming is a story of balance, respect, and spiritual connection between people, animals, and Country.
In this artwork, the act of hunting is not about excess, but about survival and responsibility within the circle of life. The hunter is guided by spirit and carries traditional weaponry, representing knowledge passed down through generations. Beside the hunter is a protective spirit, reminding us that every action on Country is witnessed and guided by spiritual law.
The animal being hunted is shown as part of the land itself, reflecting the deep connection between all living things and Country. Within it is the landscape — the earth, the water, and the life it carries — symbolising that animals are not separate from the land, but an expression of it. Above both hunter and animal, the sun shines equally, representing balance, truth, and the shared connection to life-giving energy.
This story reflects the traditional practice of taking only what is needed. Nothing is wasted, and everything taken is given back to the circle of life. It is a relationship built on respect, gratitude, and understanding that survival depends on harmony, not excess.
The spirit beside the hunter represents protection — not only of the land, but also of the animal and the sacred balance between them. It ensures that hunting is done with respect, purpose, and responsibility, honouring both life and Country.
Traditional Hunt Dreaming is a story of spiritual law, respect for nature, and the interconnected cycle of life. It reminds us that all actions carry responsibility, and that true survival comes from balance, gratitude, and respect for all living things.

Platypus Dreaming:

Platypus Dreaming tells the sacred story of the Rainbow Serpent and the beginning of creation within the waterways of Country.
In the Dreaming, the Rainbow Serpent travelled across the land, shaping rivers, waterholes, and life itself. As part of this great creation journey, the Rainbow Serpent created the platypus first — a unique creature unlike any other. Soon after, the fish were created so the waterways could flourish and the breeding cycle of life and evolution could begin.
But the young platypus did not yet understand balance, respect, or boundaries. In his hunger and curiosity, he began eating the fish before life in the waterhole had the chance to grow as it was intended. This saddened and angered the Rainbow Serpent, who rose beneath the waters and spoke to the platypus.
“This is not your waterhole. You must leave this place and find your own peaceful home. Creation was not meant to happen this way, and now I must begin again.”
The platypus was given a chance to journey on and learn from his actions. Through this lesson, he came to understand boundaries, independence, and how to live as his own unique spirit within Country. From that moment on, the platypus travelled quietly through the rivers and creeks, carrying the wisdom of respect and balance with him.
Meanwhile, the Rainbow Serpent continued the great mission of creation, bringing new animals, waterways, and life into the land so Country could thrive in harmony.
This artwork represents learning, growth, individuality, and the importance of respecting the balance of nature and community.
