Water reflections are

Complicated

Tranquil

Full of distortion and movement

My fixation became a mirror

For my own understanding of presence

I am still unsure what it takes to fully love myself

But I can say that the lake did teach me to let go

It taught me self acceptance

And that maybe

In a world on fire it's ok to choose love

Warm ground

Low-lying afternoon light

The way the clouds turned into animals

The smell of eucalyptus

Is it utopian of me to wish for simplicity

In a world on fire

In a place of privilege

The smell of rubber burning before a crash

In these moments, I reach for you

Instinct

Because if it is the end

The way I loved is all that matters
