THE TWINS ARE DONE. 🎨✨
After weeks of painting, tweaking, second-guessing… and a last-minute door handle situation 😅
I’m so excited to share my two entries for this year’s D’Arcy Doyle Art Awards:
☀️ Sunny Days in Surfers
🌙 Salty Nights in Paradise
These pieces mark the beginning of my Growing Up Gold Coast — Second Wave.
Same nostalgia… but now with mood, light, and a whole lot more story.
Sunny captures that feeling of sunrise over Surfers in the 80s—when the day was just beginning and anything felt possible.
Salty is her after-dark counterpart… where neon reflections hit the pavement, and the Pink Poodle sign stands as a symbol that you’ve arrived.
💗 Fun fact: While the original Pink Poodle Motel is long gone, the iconic sign still remains nearby—an enduring piece of Gold Coast history. For my cousins visiting from Toowoomba, it was always the moment they knew their holiday had officially begun.
As always, there are a few little Easter eggs hidden throughout for the locals 👀
Now they’re photographed, framed, and officially submitted… so if you’ve got any good vibes, happy thoughts, or a spare lucky rabbit’s foot lying around—send them my way 🤞✨
No matter what happens, I’m so proud of these two.
