We had heaps of fun last night presenting 'If You Build It..' for the Anywhere Festival. Big thank you to everyone who came along. You were a fantastic crowd! 😄👏💥Also thank you to the Brisbane Tool Library for being such an inspirational organisation. And thank you to Vulcana Circus for saving the day and letting us share your space. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to go ahead. If You Build It...is a show inspired by the Brisbane Tool Library. They let you borrow things. For a small membership fee, you can borrow over 1000 different tools, camping and sports gear. It works like a library that lends books. We thought they were cool. We wanted to present If You Build it.. at their original headquarters but they got FLOODED :-( And even still in recovery. Introducing: Dan Gordon!

Originally from the UK Dan gained an interest in physical strength around the age of 17. Starting with weight training this then developed onto Calisthenics (Bodyweight Training). Learning to master the art of controlling your own body weight has been a continued practice since.

Introducing: Darcie Rae!

Darcie has spent the last decade and a bit exploring all things aerial arts. Her long limbs and twisty, bendy aerial choreography captivates audiences, and she adores a bit of audience participation in shows.

We're so lucky to able to present our show at Vulcana. Artists from Vulcana Circus also has a great show of their own for Anywhere Festival, called Disappearing Acts.

DISAPPEARING ACTS delivers special, intimate, circus performance directly to you, in local parks, and green spaces across our neighbourhood.

Join this adventure and discover the green corners of your city you don’t know so well. A vehicle arrives, a performance tumbles out and you are engaged in brilliant compact circus for post-pandemic times. Investigating the fragility of our landscapes in the face of human impacts,

Disappearing Acts explores loss of biodiversity through circus, clowning, and magic sleight of hand.

Developed in collaboration with environmental scientist, Ayesha Tulloch, Disappearing Acts unpacks the scientific principal of testing questions and building evidence to assess what might be missing from our landscapes. It is quirky and skilled circus performance that asks us to reflect on our relationship with nature, how we value the birds, insects, trees and wild spaces that support them.

Introducing: Tla!

Originally from Brisbane, Tla (pictured below standing on Sam's head!) began her circus & acrobatics training at the age of 4. She was fortunate enough to have been coached by some of the best in the industry which then led to her starting her performing professionally at the age of 10. She has performed her skills in many different shows around Australia and internationally, also spending 5 months training at the Beijing International Circus Arts School studying acrobatics, handstands, hula hoops and flexibility.

Introducing: Rhett Morrow!

Being born into a family that owned a theatre entertainment restaurant, Rhett grew up backstage among the glam and glitter of the performing arts, but it was the thrill and excitement of circus that really drew his attention.

Rhett has been performing throughout Australia, and overseas, for over 15 years. He is a two-time winner of the Australian Street Entertainment Championships and has trained at the renowned International Circus School Beijing.
