Bring Your Bass 🎶

Are you a bass singer who loves those deep notes that make the chords lock in and resonate?

Mixed Vocal Project (MVP) is a top-level a ca****la chorus, and we’re currently looking for a few more experienced and motivated bass singers (aged 20–50) to help us build the best bass section of any chorus in Queensland.

We’re auditioning talented singers across all voice parts, but right now we’re especially keen to meet a few more strong basses to help complete our dream section as we continue our (slightly ambitious) quest for world domination.

If you’ve sung barbershop harmony before, fantastic! If not, that’s absolutely fine. What matters most is your enthusiasm, musicality, and willingness to learn.

We’re proud to be an A-Level, medal-winning chorus with Barbershop Harmony Australia, and currently the top mixed chorus in Southeast Queensland. Last year we also took home first place at the Sunshine Region Contest and the Gold Coast Eisteddfod.

Yesterday, MVP achieved a long-term goal of breaking into the ‘A’ level (80%+) with a score of 80.5 at the national chorus contest. 🤩

This marks our HIGHEST EVER SCORE as a club and we are absolutely elated to be wrapping up a fantastic festival having achieved exactly what we came to Canberra to do. 🙌🏼

The quality of yesterday’s competition is a true testament the strength of the barbershop scene in Australia, and we are so proud to play our part in this vibrant community that is continually raising the bar.🌟
