💖 The Importance of Friendship and Supporting Small Business 💖

One of the things I love most about being part of the crafting industry is the friendships that are formed along the way.

Running a small business can sometimes feel a little lonely, which is why it's so important to connect with others who understand the joys, challenges, and passion that come with building something you love.

This week, Craft Expressions was lucky enough to welcome some special visitors. It was wonderful to catch up with Nikki Tinus from Just Craftin and Scrappin in Townsville, along with Karenina and Tanya from A Place to Create at Arana Hills. 💕

There’s something truly special about sitting down over a cuppa, sharing ideas, talking shop, celebrating successes, and supporting one another. While we may each run our own businesses, we're all part of the same creative community, and that community is stronger when we lift each other up.

Thank you for taking the time to visit. The conversations, laughter, and friendship were very much appreciated, and it's always inspiring to spend time with people who share the same passion for creativity.

Here's to friendship, collaboration, and supporting small businesses wherever we can. Together, we help creativity thrive. 🌸

Unfortunately, we need to delay the start of our Brother Scan n Cut certificate workshop series by 1 month as our lovely teacher, Mell, has come down with one of those dreaded winter viruses and we don't want her to get sicker than she is already.

I will be getting the ability to book in to this onto the website and you will be able to elect to pay on the day if you don't want to do payment online.
We always look for ways to support everyone so always talk to us if you are wanting to book in to anything 😚

🎓 Introducing the Craft Expressions Creative Hub!

I'm excited to provide a follow up and announce that the very first Craft Expressions Creative Hub course kicks off this weekend with our Brother ScanNCut Academy!

The Creative Hub has been designed as a place where crafters can learn, create and grow through structured courses that build skills and confidence over time. Think of it as a creative college for crafters!

✂️ Brother ScanNCut Academy

This 6-month journey will take you from beginner to confident ScanNCut user through monthly hands-on classes.

📚 Beginner Foundations
✂Month 1 – Meet Your ScanNCut - will look at Machine basics, Mats & blades, Simple shapes and you will complete a Basic cardstock project.
✂Month 2 – Titles & Layering - you will look at • Welded words, Scrapbook titles, Layered embellishments and complete a card front project.
✂Month 3 – Scan-to-Cut - will look at scanning stamped images, Fussy cutting made easy, Sticker-style cuts.

📚 Intermediate Skills
✂Month 4 – CanvasWorkspace Basics where you will look at uploading files, editing designs and sending files to your machine.
✂Month 5 – Boxes & 3D Projects - get ready to have some fun and learn how to make gift boxes, easel cards and small folios.
✂Month 6 – Specialty Materials - let's look at Vinyl, Acetate, Foil cardstock, Foam sheets.

🎓 Graduation Project & Certificate

Students who enrol in the complete course will complete a graduation project and receive a Certificate of Achievement following Month 6.

What a Wonderful Afternoon of Creativity!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Tracey White's Art Journalling Class yesterday. 💖

While the class numbers were small, it turned out to be a real blessing, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy more one-on-one guidance and really take the time to explore and perfect some new techniques.

There was plenty of creativity, learning, experimentation, and laughter as we stepped outside our comfort zones and discovered what can be achieved with a little encouragement and a willingness to try something new.

Tracey is such a patient and knowledgeable teacher, and it was wonderful to see everyone's confidence grow as their projects came together throughout the afternoon.

Sometimes the smaller classes are the ones where the biggest learning happens!
