Nettles & Corncrakes – An Unlikely Pairing?

In the fields of Louisburgh, county Mayo, the corncrake (Crex crex) is once again making its presence known, not by sight, but by sound. This is all down to community efforts and the Corncrake LIFE project. Locals are planting nettles, flag iris, and red canary grass to create new habitats which give the corncrakes cover and space to move.
