Introducing the violinist for our upcoming 27th school annual concert on 19th September, 2026.

Akshayan Manivannan has been privileged to learn the Lalgudi Bani from Smt Narmatha Ravichandira OAM, from whom he has been receiving advanced violin and vocal training since 2018. He completed his violin arangetram in February 2023. He has also received mridangam training from Sri Ravi Ravichandra OAM. Akshayan has been fortunate enough to be continually nominated by his guru to attend masterclasses by artists of eminence such as Sangita Kalanidhis Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan, Smt Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, Dr S Sowmya, Sri RK Shriramkumar and Smt A Kanyakumari. This includes being the recipient of the prestigious IPAC Residency Scholarship in 2023. He is blessed to have the opportunity to be an aspiring writer, with a deep passion for Tamil Saiva and Classical literature. He is currently studying the first year of his PhD in Biomedical Engineering degree at RMIT.

Introducing the lead male singer for Bharatha Kalanjali Dance School’s upcoming 27th Annual Concert on 19th September 2026.

Kanthan is a gifted vocalist, passionate musician, and dedicated contributor to the performing arts community. With a deep love for Carnatic music and stage productions, he brings both emotion and energy into every performance.

Coming from a strong musical background, Kanthan has been actively involved in music from a young age and has continued to nurture his passion through performances, collaborations, and artistic contributions within the community. His ability to blend classical foundations with expressive stage presence has made him a valued part of many dance and musical productions.

Over the years, he has supported numerous cultural events and dance dramas, sharing his voice and musical talents generously with the next generation of artists. His sincerity, humility, and commitment to the arts continue to inspire those around him.

We are delighted and honoured to have Kanthan as part of this year’s production and look forward to another memorable musical journey together.
