SAVE THE DATE - Christmas in the Highlands – Illuminations will be held on Saturday 28 November 2026.
Christmas in the Highlands - Illuminations is a vibrant, community driven, one-evening annual event that transforms Grey Street and the CBD in Glen Innes, NSW, into a festive wonderland. This event blends Christmas lights, creative lighting, cultural traditions, retail, and food experiences, including the fantastic Spend In Glen promotion. Art activations, live entertainment, markets and a bold street carnival atmosphere bring community and visitors together for a joy-filled evening celebrating the start of the holiday and summer season.
Originally established as a community Christmas event, it is now transitioning into a major regional placemaking, cultural and visitor economy driver through successfully securing Transport NSW Open Street three-year funding (2025-2027).
Glen Innes Severn Council has today opened up the Expressions of Interest for the 2026 event, for street lighting, illuminations, traders, entertainment, roving performers, production, technicians, and children's workshops. We invite you to review and please share with your networks. We would love to have you part of this Christmas carnival extravaganza.
