STUDENT TESTIMONIAL: Archie Donohoe

“I chose ACA because I was so impressed by the student productions. Still some of the best theatre I’ve seen to this day. The range of performances made it a no-brainer: physical theatre, self-devised work, singing, American plays, and more.”

Wait, you thought acting class was just memorising lines?

BTS Acting Foundations with our first years at Western Sydney University, taught by Johann Walraven and Troy Harrison.

In this class, students develop skills to connect authentically with fellow performers through imaginative engagement of voice and body. We focus on creating truthful performances and communicating stories with clarity and conviction. Students develop a personal acting process through the exploration of quality dramatic texts and self-reflection.

“We love working with ACA. Our screenwriting students get so much from these reads and direct actor feedback on their works-in-progress.” — Kate Stone, Discipline Lead (Screenwriting at AFTRS)

Check out ACA students and graduates at Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) for a special collaboration with the Year 2 MA Screenwriting cohort.

Our actors performed revised drafts of feature scripts and TV pilots, helping bring new work to life through live readings and creative feedback.

Lots of very talented people in one room. Big future-Australian-cinema energy for sure. 💫

Students may explore musical theatre choreography, partner dances such as tango and waltz, and ensemble movement exercises like Suzuki that build rhythm, confidence, and stage presence.
