"And yet, we must go on".
Recently, our art society lost a wonderful member Lewis Mendis. Lewis was a beautiful artist and a humble lovely man who contributed in any way he could despite his failing health. I was fortunate to sit with Lewis in his last weeks and hear a little about his interesting life and creative passions.
Lewis very generously donated his art materials and paintings to the society, and I was very lucky to inherit some of his beautiful paintings, his oil paints, brushes, canvases and a french box.
This painting is my first independent attempt at oils, and whilst its definitely a challenge trying the new medium, I feel that his presence helps me feel energised to continue.
