Do you see your future in making films for screen? Screen Illawarra is offering a film training scholarship in 2026 to fund two young adults to take the next step in their professional skills development and to provide access to film industry promotion and support. This film training scholarship program is being funded by Gerringong Pics and Flicks as part of their community outreach program.
Screen Illawarra is a virtual organisation which offers professional development, education and training for its members through face-to-face workshops and monthly networking events. It also fosters collaboration between members by enabling them to promote their skill-set and obtain employment through putting their biography online in Screen Illawarraâs Crew and Actor Directories.
Gerringong Pics and Flicks Incorporated is a community run not-for-profit organisation, which has screened films monthly on the first Friday of the month at Gerringong Town Hall for 26 years. They
also support the cultural life of the local community through various community outreach programs.
Screen Illawarra will be collaborating with the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) to assist two young residents from the Kiama and Shoalhaven municipalities to attend two AFTRS

respective professional areas and have a depth of knowledge to share with participants. AFTRS has a diversity of courses in different skill areas: https://www.aftrs.edu.au/course-types/short-courses/
