There will be no video this week… 🐕
And we hope you understand why!!! After over a month in a shelter, Dobby has found his new forever home with us!

We need a week to help him cozy in, and focus on his health and well-being.

We really hope you understand!!

This is Apanie in early 2000s (exact date to come soon) after she was refloated & the V8 871 was replaced to the current 671 Detroit Diesel.
During this stage she was almost completely original and full of WWII memorabilia. ⚓️

This photo, and many more, were given to us by the Engineer who turned Apanie into her current status as a Cruiser.

Lots more to come on this - and entire episode dedicated to it. 🪸

If you haven’t seen, we are also looking for an empty shed, or a outdoors area we can sit Apanie to begin some major works. The mooring isn’t working. This doesn’t need to be near the water either! If you have anything, and remember a roof isn’t required, just a luxury, let us know!
See former post for details on the topic.

Can you help Apanie? We are on the lookout for a Block of Land, whether it’s your backyard or an empty block. Or a Shed/...

Can you help Apanie?

We are on the lookout for a Block of Land, whether it’s your backyard or an empty block. Or a Shed/roof/building that we can fit the old 46ft girl in. 🚢

🗓️ Approximate: 6 months
📍 Location: Huonville, Geeveston, Franklin Preferred - but anywhere Southern Tassie considered. (Rent expected)

We don’t need huge space! Just enough to sit Apanie down and work around her.
We also do not require cover, it’s can literally be a parking lot! A roof is just a bonus.

Reach out if you know of, or have something! 😊

***UPDATE: owner was contacted. Log removed. Thank you everyone for your help!***

We are attempting to locate the owner of a wooden vessel currently moored in Franklin.

A tree has become wedged between the vessel and its mooring, and the bow appears to be sitting slightly lower than normal. The tree is very large, and mostly submerged. We would like to contact the owner first as there may be damage, or that further damage could occur.

Please note: this vessel does not belong to The Wooden Boat Centre, and they are unaware of who owns it.

If you are the owner, or know who the owner may be, please contact us.

"MERSEY"

Look familiar? This vessel shares many characteristics of Apanie in her WWII appearance.

Mersey was built in 1944 as Navy Tow Boat 45549.
In March of 1948 she was brought to Devonport, Tasmania as a port tugboat.

She now seems to be in a state of neglect, but we are unsure of what maintenance looks like or what (if any) the plans are.

Do you have a story or history on her? Let us know in the comments.

Although we haven't updated it in a while, Mersey is one of the vessels on our website directory:

This behemoth of a ship will be passing right by Apanie! Terrifying! We will definitely be onboard for that!

The 217-metre-long heavy-lift vessel Black Marlin will deliver a Tasmanian shipbuilder's new electric ferry to South America, after the previous transporter became caught up in the Strait of Hormuz closure.

Good Trade? We faced the facts, we haven’t got time for the Markham Whaler, so we swapped for this sweet Stacer!
Perfect for Apanie trips! But don’t worry! Max is going to keep us updated on the Markham.

And yes, all the blur is the thick fog of the Huon Valley!
