Frankie Starr is a concert pianist. Not the kind we’re all used to though. She has an orchestra that accompanies her, actors, dancers, light shows and even sometimes acrobats and special moving images so that her music is more than just that - they are stories, experiences, and the audience is always a living and breathing part of her shows. She has elaborate costumes which are there to make a sta
tement. She always makes the story of each piece she plays very public and they are usually based on either a personal experience or struggle, relationship or a point of view - even political opinions. She does this in the hope of allowing others to relate to her struggles and stories, so that maybe it will inspire others to make a change in their own life. She is very cutting edge and progressive and there is, just simply, no one like her. The play begins with Frankie at the highest point of her career. She has just finished a sold out show, has a ton of fan mail, and some top notch producers have just offered to sponsor her on a tour around Europe - her dream. She then begins to work very hard, rehearsing day and night in preparation for the tour....but then something happens - and everyone is asking "Where the Hell is Frankie Starr????"
