🌿 What’s Going On With Our River? 🌿

In collaboration with Barwon Water, Gerangamete Forest Landcare Group and the Upper Barwon Landcare Network, we invite Upper Barwon River locals to join us for a day of learning, exploration and community involvement.

Join us for an engaging community event focused on the future of the river. Hear directly from local experts about the current health of the river, the restoration work underway, and what more can be done to protect this vital waterway.

📅 Saturday, 13 June 2026, 9.30am – 1:30pm
📍 Forrest Community Hub

This is your chance to connect, learn, and have your say—plus enjoy time outdoors with others who care about our environment.

We thank the Corangamite CMA and both scientists, Jock Mackenzie from MangroveWatch and Rob Bone from the CCMA, for supporting the Walk and Talk yesterday. It was a wonderful outcome to see the event fully booked and to witness such strong community engagement.

The scientists’ insights created genuine engagement and made the experience especially meaningful. It is encouraging to see people learning more about the rich ecosystem that surrounds them.

The Mangroves from the Water exhibition continues for two more days and we hope more visitors will attend and deepen their understanding of the region’s mangrove forests.

Mother Tree One, Two and Three
Acrylic on wood panel, 2026

This tree stands at the edge of the Ocean Grove Golf Club, and can only be seen from the water by kayak. I have observed her for over five years, from youth to a gradual decline.

Her branches are slowly collapsing, one by one. Through these three works, I depict my observations and emotional response to this tree through colour and brushstrokes.
