Today’s “Just for Fun” creation - small canvases

These were actually done months ago and I had forgotten about them, until I found them again. I was in my “trying something new” phase, which I don’t think has actually gone away.

Four 15cm x 15cm canvases, each with a Gingko leaf, yes that’s what it’s supposed to be. I “drew” the Gingko with a hot glue gun, then painted each background a different colour, and each leaf is also painted with a different colour.

This is why I don’t paint much, my ability is lacking,although I have some stencils that I would like to try. Maybe or maybe not, just have to wait and see.

Today’s “Just For Fun” creation - Geisha

This is a 30cm x 30cm frame. I have highlighted the flowers, part of the kimono and the hairpiece and added some origami cranes.

This picture was part of a pack I bought and I’m glad that there was actually 3 of this picture in the pack, because I completely stuffed up the original one I was doing. I definitely can’t save that for something else.

Today’s “Just For Fun” creation - two small frames

These have been finished for a while but I just haven’t posted them yet.

Picture 1 & 2 - a small frame with a cat in a kimono. I have highlighted some parts of the kimono and added some origami cranes.

Pictures 3 & 4 - ever so slightly larger frame than the previous one, but this cat is walking in the snow. The snow has been highlighted, falling and the ground, to hopefully add a 3D effect, along with some origami cranes.

Unfortunately, most of the highlighted parts can’t be seen in the photos. The pictures in each are actually postcards.

Exciting news! Some products are now available from in the Geelong CBD. And whilst I was there, I indulged in some delicious French Toast and a hot chocolate.

For all the crafters in Geelong and surrounds, this cafe is a great place for your crafting needs. Plenty of room for you to do some crafting, whilst you enjoy a coffee and a chat with your friends. There’s even a large workshop space available upstairs, if you want to organise your own crafty activities.

So Geelong crafters, please do check out this hidden gem and explore what it has to offer!

Today’s “Just For Fun” creation

Something a little bit different. Smaller frame with some cut wooden shapes, which have been covered with origami paper. I then placed them in the shape of a Lotus. Three origami cranes are added as well.

Today’s “Just for Fun” creation

2 miniature wire trees. Both stand approx 10cm in height.

One is made from green florist wire, has a miniature kokeshi doll and two small origami cranes.

The second is made from bronze florist wire, has a cat and two small origami cranes.

Today’s “Just For Fun” creation

Larger black frame, 22cm x 27cm. On the picture, I highlighted some of the outer flowers, as well as her jewellery. I added some tiny beads to the earrings. I also handmade some flowers to the headpiece of the picture, as well as some origami butterflies to complete the piece.

Personally, I absolutely love the final result. The flowers are still a problem for me however, but I’ll continue to try and get better.
