AMERICAN SCENE STUDY

Wednesday nights, 7-9pm at the Geelong West Neighborhood House

During the term, you will:

- Be introduced to voice work and the American accent
- Discover how script analysis informs your acting choices
- Explore different acting techniques to perform truthfully and confidently
- Receive individual coaching on your voice and acting
- Be supported to take creative risks in a safe environment

Age: 18+ (all levels of experience welcome)

Term One: 31st of January - 27th of March (9 weeks)

Pricing: $360 per term ($40 per class)

ABOUT ME:

Hi, I’m Tara 👋

Voice Coach/Actor/Owner of Voice & Speech Co.

In July 2023, I completed an intensive two-year teacher training programme under the world-renowned voice coach Patsy Rodenburg™ OBE, whose impressive client list includes A-list actors and corporate leaders alike. I’m so excited to now be bringing this world-class training to Australia.

Looking back, my interest in the voice began at a very early age. Despite being an extremely shy kid, I started singing lessons at the age of 11 and absolutely loved it. During my high school years, I was a vocalist for Motown/Soul band Sweethearts, performing at many festivals and private venues, including a European tour with performances at Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland) and Porretta Soul Festival (Italy).

In 2014, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Acting). It was the first time I learned about the spoken voice in detail, rather than the singing voice. I discovered first-hand how empowering it is to find and use my authentic voice. Since graduating, I’ve worked in both theatre and screen, with acting credits including Rostered On (Netflix) and an international theatre tour of Missing (BYTE).

I’ve always loved teaching, working as both a singing teacher and acting teacher over the past decade. I’m so excited for this new chapter and hope to see you in the studio soon!
