Happy new year everyone hope this year is a good one for you.
Babies are 3 weeks old now and doing well. Some are even showing some red colour on the dorsal fins already. Another week or 2 and I will seperate them from the parents.

Babies are 2 weeks old now and doing well they are now looking for food on the bottom of the tank at times and eating crushed up granules and decapsulated brine shrimp

Babies are 1 week old today and growing quickly. Dad must taste better than mum as they just dont feed off her for any more than a minute

Its been a long time as I shut my fish room down due to running cost of it. This pair kept spawning in my community tank (only tank i am running) and eggs were hatching in tap water but fry didn't last long after the began free swimming. I noticed with some of the batches laid there were some albino babies. It got the better of me so I set a breeder tank up again for them. Looks like I may have to wait till next time for albinos to show up but will be interesting to see what they actually throw anyway. Dad is a blue rim red cover and mum is a jaguar.

I haven't been trying to breed discus for a while as I have been so busy with work i just haven't had the time to put into it. I'm hoping things will change and settle down in the comming months then I will get back into it again. On the upside though my super red bristlenose colony has matured and starting to breed now and i also have yellow cherry shrimp if anyone is interested. I am considering using some of my spare tanks for breeding some tropical fish like fancy guppies, swords ect but not sure as my fish room is kept at 30c and needing to do some research if they will survive in that heat. I'm hoping to purchase at least 2 breeding pair of discus this year and have some new strains available (fingers crossed)
