Come on, join the Clique! Clique Brisbane ("Clique") is an exciting new dance party which is held monthly on the 3rd Friday of each month.

Clique aims to provide a club-like grown up feel for our target audience - teenagers and young people with special needs - where they can socialise, dance, make new friends and be part of an inclusive, safe and supported environment.
​
Our main focus is to wo

rk with our young patrons to assist social interaction, develop independence and responsibility and provide them their own space to party, chill out and call their own.
​
Clique events are registered with the Police in accordance with their party safe initiative guidelines and are alcohol and smoke free.
​

What a night! Our Neon Dance Party absolutely lit up the dance floor last night!

There was incredible neon and bright outfits, and an absolutely packed dance floor, plenty of laughs and some very impressive moves, our Cliquers brought ALL the energy.

There’s nothing we love more than seeing friends come together, having fun and making memories, and last night was a pretty special one.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our Neon Dance Party such a brilliant night.

More than just a night out.

There’s something pretty special about seeing the Clique community come together.

It’s the familiar faces arriving each month, the new friendships being made, the catch-ups that start before the music even does and, of course, a dance floor that rarely stays empty for long!

Clique is about creating opportunities for young adults to connect, socialise and enjoy being part of a community that’s welcoming, inclusive and genuinely fun.

And judging by the smiles we see at every event, we think our Cliquers would agree.

Celebrating the life and legacy of Suzie Skinner

It is with deep love, and great sorrow that we share the passing of our much-loved founder, Suzie Skinner OAM, who passed away on Monday night.

While her death brings profound sadness, there is comfort in knowing her suffering is at an end after living with glioblastoma.

Suzie chose a road less travelled, devoting so much of her life to building a community where young adults with intellectual disability could belong, form genuine friendships and experience the joy of connection, and since 2016 through Clique, she helped create something extraordinary: a space for us to unite, filled with laughter, dignity, inclusion and care.

Suzie was deeply grateful to every Cliquer, family, volunteer and carer who helped Clique grow into the community it is today. More than anything, she believed in people, and she believed in the power of opportunities, friendship and belonging.

On behalf of Suzie and her family, we thank you for embracing Clique and helping build the kind, caring and inclusive community that meant so much to Suzie. She was incredibly proud of what Clique has become, and of the way this community continues to support one another with love and generosity.

We know this news will be deeply felt across our Clique family. Many Cliquers formed special bonds with Suzie, and we encourage families, carers and friends to take time together to draw on her positive energy, share memories, and reflect on the joy that we share in being part of the Clique community.

Clique will continue, carrying forward the vision, values and community Suzie worked so tirelessly to build. We know there is no greater way to honour her legacy than by continuing to create opportunities for friendship, belonging and connection - the things she treasured most.

Say hello to Seán-Michael – our fantastic Cliquer of the Month for July!
 
With his larger-than-life personality, incredible sense of humour, and love of a good party, Seán-Michael brings joy wherever he goes.
 
A talented woodturner, Seán-Michael loves spending time in his workshop creating beautiful pieces on his lathe and exploring leatherwork. He’s also a passionate musician who enjoys karaoke and is learning to play both the keyboard and guitar. When he’s not making something or singing a tune, you’ll probably find him making people laugh with his spot-on impressions and love of comedy classics like Mr Bean, The Goodies, and the Muppets.
 
Seán-Michael is also a skilled barista who has generously volunteered his talents at playgroups, churches, charity shops, local cafés, and community events. His kind heart and willingness to help others are just some of the qualities that make him so special.
 
At Clique, Seán-Michael is in his element. He loves dressing up, dancing the night away, and catching up with friends. His upbeat personality, generous spirit, and impressive dance moves make him a favourite on the dance floor.
 
He’s also no stranger to adventure, having attended school in Ireland and even featured on Australian Story as a baby.
 
For Seán-Michael, Clique is one of the absolute highlights of every month - a place where he can be independent, have fun with friends, and dance the night away.
 
Congratulations, Seán-Michael! Your kindness, humour, and infectious enthusiasm make Clique an even better place. We’re so lucky to have you as part of the Clique family!

One of the most exciting things we’re seeing at Clique is just how much our community continues to grow. More young adults are joining us, more friendships are being formed, and more people are experiencing the joy of a Clique event.

With that growth comes one small challenge... many of our events are now reaching venue capacity, with some selling out before registrations close.

To avoid disappointment, we encourage everyone to book their tickets as early as possible, as registrations may close once we reach capacity.

We’re also asking families and support providers to help us create as much space as possible for Cliquers. Where it’s appropriate and safe to do so, please consider whether carers or support workers need to remain in the event room for the entire evening. Waiting nearby and checking in as needed allows more Cliquers to attend, sit with friends and enjoy the social connections that Clique is all about.

We know everyone’s support needs are different, and carers and support workers will always be welcome where they’re needed.

Thank you for helping us continue to build a welcoming, inclusive community where more young adults can connect, belong and thrive. We couldn’t do it without you. 💙

What a night!

Another Clique Dance Party is done and dusted, and what a fantastic evening it was!

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces on the dance floor, friends catching up, new friendships being formed, and plenty of laughter throughout the night. From the first song to the last, the room was buzzing with smiles, energy and great music.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the night so special. It’s nights like these that remind us what Clique is all about – creating a place where young adults with disability can connect, belong and have fun.

We can’t wait to do it all again at our Neon Dance Party on Friday 21st August. See you on the dance floor! 💙

Our July Dance Party is just around the corner, and we can't wait to see everyone back on the dance floor for another fantastic night with friends.

Whether you love to dance, catch up with your Clique mates, or simply enjoy a fun night out, this is the perfect way to spend your Friday evening.
