KEE RAA MIK is run by Leigh Craft & Luisa Hansal

In 2015, Fritz (Luisa’s Dad) took Leigh and Luisa to meet Rolf Seher at his home in Hassmersheim, Germany. Rolf lived in the house of the architect who designed Burg Guttenberg, one of Germany’s oldest and best-preserved castles, dating back to the 12th century.

A passionate collector of art, antiques, furniture, and West German pottery, Rolf was initially reluctant to part with any pieces from his vast collection. However, in 2017, after many conversations with Luisa’s parents, he surprisingly agreed to send a freight container of 100+ West German ceramics to Boorloo (Perth), hoping to share his love for West German pottery with Western Australia.

In November 2023, Leigh and Luisa closed Pig Melon as an exhibition/event space and converted it into their home / studios.

Since February 2024, they’ve been housing Rolf’s pottery collection in their lounge room. Leigh and Luisa are honored to share Rolf’s collection of Mid-Century West German pottery with the Boorloo/Wayalup community at Currents as part of Fremantle Design Week.

Rolf doesn’t own a phone or have internet access, but if we could reach him through channels other than a trip to Germany and a knock on his front door, we know he’d be thrilled.

Tomorrow is the last day to see Jack Wansbrough’s stunning exhibition ‘Meteorite Inquiries’ !

Open 11am-5pm | 181 Lord Street, Boorloo

“I think we all expect morsels of chance to impact our lives or to change our trajectory, but in the anticipation to illuminate their sudden presence, we can sometimes feel disappointed by the outcomes brought on by seeking clarification. It’s merely industrial waste or only terrestrial in nature; not a chunk of fallen star. But the space between knowing and complete mystery is serendipity. It’s everything to do with the possibility rather than the revelation.” - excerpt from exhibition text by

Jack Wansbrough - Meteorite Inquires 1980-1995

Meteorite Inquires 1980-1995 is a series of drawings in solder on upholstered panels. The name comes from a lever arch file, found in a bin, containing 15 years of correspondence between the Western Australian Museum and members of the public asking ‘is this a meteorite?’ It’s an obscure archive of stones and slag, strange phenomena, and work carried out whether or not it’s luminous.

Jack Wansbrough () is an artist based in Boorloo. He usually works collaboratively across different disciplines. Recent works include The Rock Pool at Old Customs House, The Noise and Vibration Council for Audible Edge festival of sound, and The Many Forked Tongue at Private Island.
