Jarrah ash, in reduction.

Mossy greens, iron flecks, soft crackle and warm clay left bare.

A glaze made from something of this place, transformed by fire into something I couldn’t quite predict.
(Clay is from Midland Brick (pair) and Keanes SW9 (one in hand))

What I saw → what I made. 🌼

The beginning of Djilba, when the paper daisies start appearing and WA begins to shift into wildflower season.

Twenty-three years ago, in September, a paper daisy was the first flower my husband ever bought me. 🤎

So perhaps this one was always going to find its way onto a pot.

Painted by hand into glaze, the reduction firing creating warm earthy tones and the loose impression of those wildflowers.

A wheel-thrown tumbler with a hand-built tray, made as a pair but useful apart.

We all have that mug. ☕️

The big morning coffee mug.
The little one for something stronger.
The tea mug.
The night-time sipper.
The “actually, I’m having w**e in this” mug. 😂

Big, small, chunky handles, little handles, wonky ones and everything in between. I make them different because hands are different, drinks are different and, frankly, we’re all weirdly particular about our mugs.

And somehow, no matter how many are in the cupboard, there’s always the one you reach for first.

What’s yours?

little non-pottery post ❤️

Us, just over 22 years ago, dancing to Dolly for our first dance.

Thank you for the music, the joy, your kind heart and the generosity you gave to the world. What a legacy.

Vale Dolly ❤️
