Loretta Blake, Kobie Bosch and Jacki Fewtrell’s paintings are full of colour and personality. Playful, yet sophisticated in their ex*****on - they’re the kind of paintings that make you smile and then keep you looking.

Our first exhibition opens Saturday 12 September, 6:00pm and everyone is welcome. Join us, with Hawkesbury Regional Gallery Director Elissa Blair opening the show, and a fabulous group of selected artists, for the opening of ‘A Spring Affair: New Beginnings.

This reopening marks the beginning of the gallery’s new model - smaller, more personal, and by appointment outside of exhibition weekends.

.. and that’s a wrap 🌻🌻🌻

Wow! Again, we had another very busy day with so many visitors from all over Sydney and beyond on the Hawkesbury Art Trail. So much fun - George cooked his pizzas, I talked art and wrapped little pots and frames all day - plus a few paintings. It was wonderful. Thank you to everyone who visited - it was wonderful catching up with you all. And big thanks for all the love and support 🙏

Thank you to everyone who called in today. It was overwhelming really. Still plenty of frames, not so many pots (all $10 ea), freebies (forgot to tell visitors they were free 🙄), paintings … and George’s pizza was a big hit 😘 … and I got presents, orchids and flowers- just for opening the gallery again .. feeling the warmth 🥰 It was lovely!

Getting ready for the Hawkesbury Art Trail next weekend. We will re-open the gallery both Saturday and Sunday 29th an 30th August along with with many other fabulous studios in the Hawkesbury.

Lots of frames - loads of freebies, and all others very low prices - artists I have a lot of stretcher bar frames 🖼️

Petra Reese paints houses with stark, geometric precision under harsh, revealing sunlight that accentuates their silent isolation. She treats the views outside windows as mysterious boundaries, where stark, empty landscapes or distant, unseen urban lives hint at quiet psychological drama and often lingering human absence.

Petra usually paints in series. Moreover, Petra is not a single subject painter; her oeuvre comprises landscapes, still life, and figurative works. Petra’s work is realist with concentration on light and shadow. Her artwork has been influenced by Edward Hopper and I adore her choice of pinks and pastel shades against the dramatic Australian outback.

A gallery isn’t just about the walls...

It’s the garden that welcomes you, the kettle that’s usually on, the paintings waiting to be discovered and, these days, a growing collection of little ceramic pots too.

We’re busy getting everything ready for the Hawkesbury Artisans Trail and can’t wait to open the gates again.

Join us at Purple Noon on 28 & 29 August for a weekend of art, pottery, frames and a little bit of garden escapism.

From quirky to classic, Jacki Fewtrell Gobert’s paintings are full of personality - fun and playful, yet sophisticated in their ex*****on. And there will be plenty of paintings to browse, along with pottery for sale and our rather fabulous frame sale.

We have lots of frames looking for a new home, including some FREE ones that just need a little TLC (perhaps a coat of paint!) plus lots of stretcher-bar frames.
And of course, the garden will be open too. It’s a lovely place to sit, wander and escape for a while, especially during the Hawkesbury Art Trail weekend. 🌿
And George has mentioned he might even fire up the pizza oven. 🍕
Yay!

Then, on Saturday 12 September, our first exhibition opens - so there’s plenty to look forward to.

Come for the art, stay for the garden … and maybe stay for pizza!
