Yes!! The headlines are true! We are heading down to Flinders this Friday afternoon to launch our inaugural music workshop.
This initiative was suggested to us by our Musical Director, Tom Buchanan, and the choir said yes indeed, without any hesitation.
There will be a lot of musical work involved, but there will also be a lot of fun too.
We are delighted to be visiting Flinders and hope that you say Hello to us if you see us around town.
There are exciting plans ahead in 2026 for our choir and we will keep you abreast of these developments. Stay tuned to this page!
Thank you to the Southern Peninsula, Westernport and Mornington Newspapers for sharing our news in your newspapers. We are always grateful for the opportunity to promote our choir. Cheers to you all! 😃

Last night the beautiful Somerville Mechanics Institute shone like a magnificent old jewel as our fabulous Mornington Peninsula Welsh Ladies choir sang to a very appreciative audience.
The mood was joyous as audience members enjoyed a wonderful repertoire of songs. They were captivated by the superb voice of Norah Xia, a very talented young soprano whose diminutive size belied her magnificent voice which soared through the rafters. Keep an eye out for her in the future!
If you missed out getting a ticket for this sold out concert, do not stress, we will be singing again in Flinders in August.
Keep an eye out for future posts regarding our concert on Sunday 9 August at 2pm when we sing at St John’s Anglican Church. There will, of course be a delicious afternoon tea following the concert.
We sincerely thank our sponsors of this concert and who made our performance possible -
The Mornington Peninsula Shire; Bendigo Bank - Mount Martha; Melbourne Welsh Church and Baramban Organic Dairy.
We look forward to singing for you all soon! 😊😊

Rehearsals are well underway at MPWLC central as our choristers prepare for our autumn concert to be held on 2 May and held at the beautiful Somerville Mechanics Institute. This building has recently been renovated and now provides a hub for many cultural and community occasions.
Our concert, named "Noson Lawen" means "merry or joyful night" and we are sure we will be delivering that. Our choristers are preparing a stunning repertoire including some favourites and some shiny new pieces that will be sure to delight. Some of our repertoire is sung in Welsh and some in English. Whatever your preference, the harmonies and the voices will delight you.
Joining us on this warm and inviting evening is a beautiful young soprano, Norah Xia.
Norah is a Year 12 student at Kingswood College with a strong passion for music. She has been studying voice with Susan Breen-Clarke since 2022 and has many prestigious awards to her name. We are very much looking forward to having her join us in our evening of song.
Tickets can be booked via the QR code (bottom of the poster) or by calling Trudi Mackenzie on 0406 678 261.
Ticket price includes a welcome drink on arrival of Prosecco or a refreshing non-alcoholic drink and we invite you all to join us afterwards for some wine and cheese. See you there!
