KITCHEN BLUES – 3rd September at Young Street Tavern, Frankston

Enjoy our pro house band, jam/listen in the fab YST band room and hear one of Australia's best blues artists.

Cam Walter is one of Australia’s true blues guitar guns, delivering old-school boogie, gritty slide guitar and raw, high-energy blues with plenty of attitude. A veteran of notable Australian outfits including Relax with Max, Brown Hornet and Fats Wah Wah, Cam has built a reputation for playing blues the old way — spontaneous, powerful and never overly polished.

In January 2025, Cam Walter represented the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society (MBAS) at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, Tennessee, where he powered his way into the Top 5 finalists, equalling the highest finish achieved by an Australian act at the prestigious international competition. It was an impressive showing on one of the world’s biggest stages for emerging and independent blues artists.

Armed with vintage-style gear, dirty fuzz tones and a fearless approach to improvisation, Cam brings blues, boogie and rock ’n’ roll in a live show built on feel rather than formulas. Expect scorching guitar, plenty of slide and the sort of unpredictable energy that makes live blues exciting.

A HUGE thanks to everyone who came to YOUNG STREET TAVERN in Frankston last night. We had a packed house for KITCHEN BLUES after to quick change of venue from God's Kitchen in Mornington. We had four sets of quality jamming, and TRAVIS from Travis Winters Band gave us a full hour living on the blues edge. Love it! Big thank you to Clint and the YST team for looking after us so well. And let's shine a spotlight on the powerhouse KB house band of Tim Stout (Drums), Adam Waldron (Guitar) and Dorian (Bass).
