The leafy sea dragon is coming to life!

The fabric collage is finished and the thread painting is now done, adding detail and depth to this beautiful little creature.

Next comes the fun part… embellishing the background with kelp and soft coral to create an underwater environment for my leafy sea dragon to swim through. 🌿🪸

One step closer to being ready for my upcoming Quilt Encounter workshop in Adelaide!

Here’s a sneak peek at what I’m working on!

I’m creating samples for an upcoming workshop at Quilt Encounter in Adelaide next month and this leafy sea dragon is coming together.

The fabric collage is complete and now it’s time to bring it to life with thread painting. I love watching all those tiny pieces transform into something almost three-dimensional. 💙

In a Spin is part of the The West Australian Quilters' Association Inc. Traditional Techniques Transformed Exhibition, celebrating WAQA’s 50th Anniversary! 🎉🧵

It’s wonderful to see traditional quilting techniques interpreted in fresh and contemporary ways, alongside the work of so many talented textile artists.

What a special week for GOSH 💙⛵️🧵

I’m delighted to share that my quilt Go GOSH received 1st Place in the Pictorial category and was named Runner Up Best in Show at QuiltWest today.

Then, last weekend, the Clipper 2025–26 Race came to a close, with GOSH declared the overall winner after dominating the race.

After sailing on GOSH during the race, I figured I couldn’t let the team down… so it’s only fitting that the quilt celebrating that incredible adventure did rather well too. 😊

Congratulations to the whole GOSH team on an amazing achievement, and thank you to the sponsor Handcrafters House and everyone at QuiltWest for the recognition.
It’s been a week to remember…

I’m so excited to share that Ocean Wanderer has been selected for the RFBYC Art Exhibition, on this weekend at the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.

There is something truly awe-inspiring about seeing an albatross at sea. Watching these magnificent birds glide effortlessly across the waves is simply mesmerising.
Capturing that sense of freedom and grace in fabric and thread was the inspiration behind this piece.

Even better, the exhibition is raising funds for Spectrum Space making it a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some fantastic art while supporting an important cause.

Exhibition is open Friday - Sunday 10am - 5pm

Day 2 of my Scribbling with Purpose workshop for The West Australian Quilters' Association Inc.

It’s always rewarding to see everyone’s confidence grow as they let go of perfection, experiment with free-motion stitching, and discover just how expressive thread can be.
Every piece is unique, and that’s the beauty of it

Thank you to everyone who brought their enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to play.

Another week’s work on Go GOSH…..⛵️⛵️⛵️

I didn’t quite meet my self-imposed deadline of having her finished… but I’m very close!

There’s just a little more quilting to do in the ocean (not counting the finishing steps of squaring up and adding a facing!)

I’m absolutely stoked with how she’s looking. It’s been a joy reliving our Clipper Round the World Yacht Race adventure through fabric and thread, and I can’t wait to show the finished piece.

Another week’s work on Go GOSH….⛵️⛵️⛵️

The sails are basically done and I have turned my attention to the ocean 🌊 🌊

More fabric collage was needed to create movement for the waves before the thread painting magic can begin..

Another week’s progress on Go GOSH and the sails are finally coming together. There’s still more detail to add, but she’s definitely starting to look the part.

As my Artist in Residence at Midland Junction Arts Centre comes to an end, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who dropped by for a chat and to the Centre for making the experience so enjoyable.

I’m delighted that “Beach Combing” has found its forever home.

“Beachcombing” is inspired by the colours of Western Australia’s northern coastline—turquoise waters, brilliant white sand and rich red earth.

Appliquéd across this vibrant background are the treasures that make a walk along the beach so rewarding: shells, pebbles, sea glass and other precious finds revealed by the tide.
