Only 3 spots left for this! Come and workshop your playwriting with the incredible Michele Lee.

Michele Lee is a multiple award-winning Hmong-Australian writer for stage, screen, audio and live art, with work presented in Australia and overseas.

Across her creative work, she aims to centre the stories of those historically on the margins—women, people of colour, working-class people, and people from her community, the Hmong.

Michele is under commission from Griffin Theatre and Melbourne Theatre Company and has developed and presented work in mainstage contexts, festivals, universities, youth arts and independent theatre.

She was a recipient of the prestigious Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship (2022-23) in recognition of her body of work, and has been nominated or won some of Australia’s most recognised awards such as the Australian Writers’ Guild Award, Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, Nick Enright Prize, Griffin Award, Patrick White Award and the Betty Burstall Commission.

We are so excited to announce the incredible artists that will be presenting work at ‘Scratch That’!

Completing our line up we have Katie Collins and Liv Chapman who will be presenting a scene from their original play ‘Sticky’:

“Sticky, is a trojan horse. Through a thin veil of campy comedy, it exposes the slimy, sticky reality of puberty, separation of self in social media, and the way young q***r people in the public eye are unwillingly propped up to be spokespeople of their community, often before they’ve actually experienced the community itself.”

Come and see new work, connect to like minded artists and help shape what comes next for these works.
