THANKS FOR BEING PART OF THE CONVERSATION
A big thank you to Flaxton Gardens for hosting us and to everyone in our community that gave up some of their Saturday to join us for the Sculpture on the Edge Open Conversation today.
It was great to hear from such a passionate and thoughtful creative community. Your ideas, feedback and experiences are a big part of what makes SOTE so special.
The ACI Committee will now take your feedback on board as we continue shaping this year’s event together.

Meet Claudia Hickel, from the forests of Germany to the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Claudia’s artistic journey has always been deeply connected to nature, creativity and storytelling.

After studying at the prestigious Munich Wood and Stone Carving School, Claudia moved to Australia where she continued exploring painting, drawing and sculpture across many mediums. Reconnecting with clay in recent years, her sculptural works now reflect the beauty of nature, the human spirit and our inner journeys.

Working from her hinterland studio overlooking wilderness gardens, Claudia finds endless inspiration in the stillness of national parks and the natural world around her.

A valued exhibiting artist since 2021, Claudia’s thoughtful and expressive sculptures continue to inspire visitors at Sculpture on the Edge.

Meet Amanda Stuart, a sculptor and storyteller.
What if forgotten objects could speak?
What stories would they share?

Blending history, humour and imagination, Amanda’s one-of-a-kind sculptural works breathe new life into the past—transforming the overlooked into something vibrant, curious, and full of personality.

Each piece feels like a moment captured mid-conversation… leaving us to wonder what’s being said.

🌿 Discover more of Amanda’s inspiring work at Sculpture on the Edge this November.

Meet Felicity Smith with 'Amore', one of our Sculpture on the Edge Artists 2025.
Felicity explores form, texture and connection through her sculptural work.

Stripped bare and anonymous, the ‘Amore’ fragment considers the duality of masculinity.

The figure is a representation of the strength and power required of the provider, but also communicates vulnerability and emotional connection required of the life partner.
