What a great day! Having lived in Tatura as a teenager it was truly lovely to reconnect with Shepparton in such a positive and inspirational way. My first art prize was an award at the Tatura Art Show, a highly commended followed by a win
(and 2nd place with a drawing for an Australia Post stamp prior)

Very grateful for the warmth and generosity extended by the workshop attendees and gallery staff. Wonderful to see the Shepp art community thriving. And what a beautiful gallery and exhibition!

Preparing for next Saturday’s workshop at Shepparton Art Museum (SAM), remembering inspiring times with Degas’ work.

The first time I saw Degas’ work live was at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2007 and I was overwhelmed. Such incredible work. Fresh vibrant marks of light and colour, beautiful expression with gentle movement and observation of humanity.

In 2016 I ran a variety of workshops during National Gallery of Victoria’s ‘Degas: A New Vision‘ and have wonderful memories - of meeting lovely people and sharing some very special moments

Would love to see you at SAM next weekend!

What an amazing exhibition! Very proud to be included in such a wonderful collection of artworks in the beautiful Art Gallery of Swan Hill as a finalist in the 2026 Swan Hill Print & Drawing Awards.

Huge congratulations to all the very well deserving winners, and finalists!, and many thanks to judges Dunja Rmandic Dunja Rmandić and Lisa Sullivan Lisa Sullivan and the incredible team at Swan Hill Art Gallery of Swan Hill

I love that my piece sits next to my favourite work of Rona Green and feel very spoilt that it can be seen from outside the gallery, framed by the gallery doors

Upcoming workshop, presented by Shepparton Art Museum (SAM) as part of their ‘Facing Modernity: From Degas to Picasso’ exhibition

Working with beautiful Aurora dressed and posed as a ballerina, we’ll explore observational drawing through a series of short and longer poses, inspired by Edgar Degas’ iconic studies of dancers and his fascination with movement, repetition and performance.

✨ No prior drawing experience is needed – everyone is welcome! 🎨 All materials are provided
👥 Best suited for ages 16+

A wonderful night back at drawing the beautiful and inspiring .and.good

Continuing with acrylic paint markers, enjoying the challenge of drawing with bold and colourful linework. Using a bit of white pastel for corrections as I already need to replace my white marker. I might try some oil pastel with the markers too. I think layering could work well!

Inspiring night with at , surrounded by the artworks of ‘Flesh’ and drawing the gorgeous and

Directed by , we began the evening with blind contour drawing, continuous line work, and duo-drawing - fun and effective warm-up exercises (my continuous line drawing included - I wouldn’t normally draw with such a strong line but I love the energy)

I used pencil and acrylic paint markers (instead of charcoal and pastel) to mix things up and hopefully push my work a bit further. I find that experimenting with different mediums helps me switch off some of the overthinking, and a sense of play can deepen my connection to drawing.

After the session, I created an extra sketch of Imanol using the markers. I still have a long way to go in learning how to use them properly, but I enjoyed them much more than I expected!

Always learning, always experimenting. Grateful for the people and the spaces that encourage play and creative growth.
