When we support local events, we strengthen our community.

This weekend local Valley school student from Gargett State School Briella Meikle takes the Stage at Pioneer Valley Country Music Festival🤠🎤

We’re so excited to share that Briella is competing in the Pioneer Valley Country Music Festival for the very first time at the Pioneer Valley Showgrounds! 🌟

At just 10 years old, Briella has a huge love for singing, country music and performing, and she’s thrilled to have the opportunity to get up on stage and be part of this fantastic local event.

🎤 Briella performed on stage today
🤎 You Belong With Me – Taylor Swift
🤎 Raised Like That – James Johnston
🤎 Cracker Jack – Dolly Parton
🤎 Love Story – Taylor Swift

And tomorrow she’ll be on at 9:45 and she’ll sing:
🤎 I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair) – Sandi Thom

This is a very special as it’s the first step for Briella, and we couldn’t be prouder of her for putting herself out there, doing what she loves and embracing the experience. ❤️

If you’re heading up the Valley this weekend, be sure to pop into the Pioneer Valley Country Music Festival and enjoy an incredible line-up of local talent! 🎶🤠❤️

📣 Queensland Ag Shows Next Generation wants to hear from you!

As we look ahead to 2027, we want to make sure our priorities, activities and resources reflect what young people and emerging leaders across Queensland’s agricultural Show movement actually need.

If you’re aged 18–40 and involved with an agricultural Show in any way — whether as a committee member, volunteer, steward, exhibitor, competition participant, ambassador or supporter — we’d love you to take a few minutes to complete our 2027 Needs & Priorities Survey.

Your feedback will help us better understand what matters most to young people within the Show movement, including:

✨ Leadership and professional development
✨ Training and practical resources
✨ Volunteer engagement and succession planning
✨ Networking and regional opportunities
✨ Showgirl, Rural Ambassador and competition support
✨ Building stronger pathways for young people to become involved and take on leadership roles

Most importantly, the results will help guide Queensland Ag Shows Next Generation’s priorities, activities and budget for 2027.

📅 Survey closes 8pm, Sunday, 27 September 2026.

Please share this with other young people involved in your Show, Sub-Chamber or agricultural community. The more voices we hear from, the better we can plan for 2027.
