Kink in the Tale founder, Donné Restom is a storyteller, singer, and writer who never gets bored of ‘researching’ and sharing s*x stories. She likes encouraging others to do the same.

her debut one woman show, ‘Everyone in my Family is Dead or About to be’ was nominated for Sydney Fringe Festival 2024’s Best in Theatre Award.

Donné was the s*x advice columnist for Ralph magazine’s h***y teens in her twenties, and the s*x writer for the chronically tired mums of Kidspot in her thirties.

If you're into storytelling you may have seen her at Story Club, Bravewords Live or Stories that Stir. And if you're filthy storytelling, then you'll want to see her at the August 3rd show!

Kink in the Tale favourite, Albert Lakeside has spent many hours stumbling about on a stage. As a front man and violinist he’s bellowed, growled and vomited into his motorcycle helmet too many times to count. When he sings he sounds like Tom Waits. He fits everywhere and nowhere and his moustache is the stuff of legends. He is a puppeteer, lifeguard, ex front line community service worker, and once you’ve met him, you’ll never forget him.

We loved having Caldwell on stage for Newcastle Writers fest so much, we managed to drag her back up the coast (all the way from Canberra!) for round two. Her stories are mesmerising, powerful and utterly true.
For those who don't already know, Dr Hilary Caldwell is a s*x worker, author, academic, s*xologist, and long-time advocate for gender justice. With a doctorate on women who buy s*x and over two decades of professional experience, Hilary brings fierce intelligence, lived experience, and clarity to public conversations about pleasure, power, and consent. Her political memoir, Slutdom: Reclaiming Shame-Free Sexuality, challenges the enduring impact of slt shaming and argues for a world in which everyone can pursue pleasure without fear, stigma, or coercion.

Scarlett is an actor, performance artist and one of Australia's most successful burlesque event producers. She recently made her poetry debut with "Her Name", published by Outlaw Poets Media in the compilation "World's Apart: A Globe Of Poetry".

Born of bohemian parents in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs, she grew up in a haze of second-hand smoke on the Persian rugs of artists, drag queens and fallen socialites.

Her first ever paid job was as a professional writer. At 10 years old, she posed as an adult and sent a fake autobiographical story to Women's Day Magazine, which was selected for the "Share a Secret" section. Earning her a tidy cheque for $200 in the mid-90s, it remains her highest-paid writing gig to date. Better to peak too soon than not at all, perhaps.

In her teens, Scarlett began serious training in aerial acrobatics, beginning her path to being a professional performer in circus arts. Scarlett soon slipped, tripped and fell onto a career as a burlesque performer, no doubt influenced by her childhood memories of Godmother and Australian st******se icon, Elizabeth Burton.

When she is not working, you will find Scarlett cuddling her hairless cat and staying up too late.
